Director / Assistant Director, Procurement

Job Overview

This leadership role involves crafting and implementing annual strategies that align with overall organizational and departmental objectives. You will spearhead initiatives leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence to drive value and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute yearly strategic plans to support both departmental and business-wide goals.
• Lead initiatives that capitalize on new technologies, including AI, to enhance procurement functions.
• Oversee management of team categories focusing on significant cost reduction and value creation for the organization.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships including selection, negotiation, and performance oversight.
• Ensure alignment of procurement strategies with Sustainable Procurement policies.
• Guide and mentor teams toward achieving business objectives such as revenue targets, risk minimization, reputation enhancement, and cost efficiency.
• Supervise end-to-end procurement processes for internal operations and external partnerships.
• Act as the primary liaison for stakeholders to add value to various business units.
• Serve as the main resource for procurement-related inquiries, training, policy guidance, and procedural alignment across departments.
• Focus on talent development to build a high-performing team with strong functional and leadership skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience with 5 to 10 years in sustainable procurement leadership and transformation roles.
• Between 3 to 5 years of experience managing teams directly.
• Strong leadership background in procurement strategy formation, business innovation, and productivity enhancements with a focus on sustainability.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong urgency and accountability.
• Excellent analytical skills, agile thinking, and detail-oriented with strategic vision.
• Demonstrable influence and business acumen within complex, matrixed organizations.
• Degree preferably in technical fields such as Engineering, IT, or Supply Chain; relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
