Position Overview

The role of Director, APAC Supply Chain is a senior leadership position responsible for acting as the key liaison between the Global Supply Chain organization and APAC business units. Reporting to the VP of EMEA & APAC Regional Supply Chain, this role focuses on enhancing supply chain performance throughout the diverse and complex APAC region. Based in Singapore or Shanghai, the position involves managing a regional team and collaborating closely with Commercial, Finance, Operations, and Global stakeholders to boost customer service, inventory management, business alignment, and supply chain capabilities. The Director also functions as a strategic partner to regional executives, helping to shape supply chain effectiveness and support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee supply chain performance in the APAC region, focusing on customer service, forecast accuracy, inventory control, and operational excellence while balancing service levels, working capital, and growth objectives.
• Lead regional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning efforts, fostering collaboration among Commercial, Finance, Operations, and Global teams to enhance planning quality and execution.
• Implement a rigorous performance management routine that identifies risks, uncovers root causes, develops mitigation strategies, and pursues continuous improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to convert market demands into actionable supply chain strategies and recovery plans.
• Drive supply chain transformation initiatives emphasizing process standardization, system adoption, data-based decision making, and operational excellence.
• Enhance organizational efficiency by establishing stronger governance, decision-making frameworks, operational rhythms, and interdepartmental partnerships across APAC.
• Bolster capabilities through improved governance, operating models, and scalable workflows across the region.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing regional team to foster accountability, customer orientation, talent growth, and continuous advancement, building leadership and organizational readiness for future challenges.
• Support business expansion by developing resilient supply chain capabilities that promote sustainable long-term performance enhancements.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related disciplines is required; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressively senior supply chain leadership experience managing regional or multi-country operations, ideally within medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, or other complex regulated sectors.
• Comprehensive experience across the entire supply chain function, including planning, inventory control, customer operations, execution, and cross-functional disciplines.
• Proven success in enhancing customer service levels, operational metrics, inventory efficiency, and broader business results within matrix organizations.
• Demonstrated leadership of transformation projects, organizational improvements, capability development, or operating model enhancements with regional scope.
• Strong technical aptitude with ERP/SAP platforms, planning tools, analytics, and performance management frameworks.
• Excellent ability to influence senior-level stakeholders, foster robust business relationships, and navigate complex, ambiguous environments.
• Strategic thinker capable of translating overarching business objectives into effective operational plans and enduring capability development strategies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing culturally diverse teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% within the APAC region.
