About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional with Sevita in Ponchatoula, LA, you will play a critical role in improving the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in developing essential life skills—including budgeting, healthy lifestyle choices, and personal care
• Provide hands-on help with personal hygiene and daily routines, ensuring comfort and dignity
• Motivate, encourage, and accompany participants to engage in community activities and social events
• Support individuals with complex behavioral or physical needs with empathy and professionalism
• Advocate for participant independence, inclusion, and personal growth

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education required
• Preferably six months or more of relevant experience in direct care, human services, or care coordination
• Excellent communication and adaptability skills
• Teamwork and time-management abilities essential
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation available
