Diesel Mechanic

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic experienced in servicing, repairing, and fully overhauling diesel engines used in equipment such as mobile air compressors, generators, and pumps. The successful candidate will have a proven background in the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors, with the ability to maintain equipment so that it operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine servicing, repair, and complete overhaul of diesel engines.
• Inspect and diagnose faults in diesel-powered mobile air compressors, generators, and pumps, troubleshooting to identify issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance following company and manufacturer guidelines.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Replace faulty parts and conduct engine rebuilds when necessary.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns to conduct maintenance work as required.
• Maintain an orderly work environment and properly handle tools and equipment.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Secondary School Certificate or an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in overhauling diesel engines and servicing mobile air compressors, generators, and pumps.
• At least five years of work experience within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
• Strong familiarity with diesel engine diagnostics, overhaul techniques, and established maintenance procedures.
