Role Overview

The Development Manager role is an excellent opportunity for professionals early in their career who wish to gain hands-on experience within the hospitality and real estate development sector. Reporting to the Director of Development for Iberia, the incumbent will assist in sourcing, assessing, negotiating, and executing development projects in Spain and Portugal.

Responsibilities

• Identify, source, and evaluate new development prospects across Spain and Portugal.
• Support financial feasibility assessments and create efficient financial models.
• Collaborate with feasibility and development teams to evaluate potential projects.
• Prepare presentations and investment documents for landlords, owners, and partners.
• Participate in negotiations with landlords and relevant stakeholders alongside the development team.
• Maintain and develop relationships with brokers, owners, consultants, and industry contacts in Iberia.
• Attend sector events to maintain an active presence in hospitality and real estate markets.
• Assist with pipeline oversight, reporting, and project tracking activities.
• Contribute to market research, competitor analysis, and the execution of strategic growth plans.
• Work cross-functionally with feasibility, design, finance, and project management groups throughout the development process.
• Promote process improvements and efficiencies, including leveraging AI tools and modern technologies.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• At least two years of experience in hospitality, real estate, consulting, investment, development, or private equity.
• Strong analytical and financial aptitude, with confidence using Excel.
• Prior experience in preparing feasibility studies, financial models, or investment analyses is preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A resilient, proactive mindset with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Commercial awareness, with a keen interest in hospitality and real estate development.
• Capability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Curiosity about innovation, artificial intelligence, and business process optimization.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory.
• Candidates must be based in Madrid and able to travel frequently.
