About the Role
Join Parsons Corporation as a Design Manager in Tabūk, Saudi Arabia, where you'll play a pivotal role in leading engineering disciplines within major projects. Key Responsibilities
- Provide both managerial leadership and technical guidance for significant engineering disciplines or interdisciplinary engineering functions.
- Lead the delivery of engineering services on large, complex projects and programs, including those exceeding $250 million installed costs.
- Oversee discipline staffing budgets, resource allocation plans, assignment schedules, and forecast workforce needs.
- Ensure that appropriate engineering talent is available across projects to meet delivery deadlines.
- Track quality, progress, productivity, and technical performance of engineering functions across multiple projects.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Directors to resolve challenges relating to staffing, quality, scheduling, and technical execution.
- Develop, implement, and uphold engineering standards, procedures, manuals, and best practices specific to disciplines.
- Suggest enhancements to departmental workflows, standards, and delivery methods.
- Provide strategic oversight on complex engineering challenges ensuring adherence to codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Manage annual salary plans, guide salary decisions, and supervise recruitment, interviewing, selection, and development of engineering personnel.
- Lead employee performance management, succession planning, mentoring, and ensure smooth onboarding for new hires.
- Support business development by acting as a senior technical advisor for proposals, execution plans, staffing, presentations, and client interactions.
- Ensure discipline operations stay within approved budgets and optimize departmental performance metrics.
- Promote inter-disciplinary cooperation among engineering teams and external stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of engineering innovations, digital tools, and emerging technologies to continually enhance project quality and efficiency.
- Represent the engineering discipline at managerial meetings, client engagements, and technical forums.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 20 years progressive engineering experience with substantial leadership of large, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Demonstrable expertise managing engineering disciplines on significant infrastructure, transportation, building, utilities, or complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Proficient in engineering resource planning, workforce management, budget oversight, and quality control.
- Strong knowledge in engineering design principles, industry standards, governance, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience developing and maintaining engineering standards, technical procedures, and discipline manuals.
- Credentials such as Professional Engineer registration or equivalent may be required depending on assignment.
- Excellent communication skills, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable Skills
- Recognition as Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent international accreditation.
- Affiliation with professional engineering institutions or societies.
- Experience managing mega-projects or programs with capital values exceeding $250 million.
- Background in PMC, delivery partner, EPC, design consultancy, or client-side roles.
- Familiarity with digital engineering, BIM, automation, and advanced engineering technologies.
- Experience driving engineering governance, quality initiatives, and organizational change.
- Proven success in leading geographically distributed and multicultural teams.
- Strong strategic planning skills with dedication to technical excellence and continuous improvement.
