Data Scientist / Data Visualization Analyst

About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous and highly analytical Data Scientist / Data Visualization Analyst to bolster our data team based in Hamburg, Germany. This full-time position entails gathering, processing, and interpreting extensive datasets to uncover actionable insights. Moreover, the role involves crafting insightful dashboards and data visualizations that inform strategic business decisions. Working closely with various departments, you will apply data-driven methods to address business challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, cleanse, and analyze extensive data from diverse sources.
• Create reports, interactive dashboards, and visual data representations utilizing business intelligence platforms.
• Implement statistical and machine learning methods to identify significant patterns and draw conclusions.
• Design and manage data models to facilitate reporting and analytical processes.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather business needs and convert them into analytical solutions.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership.
• Assist in building and refining data pipelines and reporting workflows.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all systems.
• Document methodologies, analytic reports, and technical workflows thoroughly.
• Keep current with advances in data science, artificial intelligence, and data visualization technologies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Undergraduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience analyzing data using programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is advantageous.
• Strong skills with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools including Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Fundamental knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms.
• Understanding of SQL databases and principles of data warehousing.
• Exposure to cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem resolution, and critical reasoning skills.
• Proficient communication skills and ability to present data insights effectively.
• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
• Proficient in English; knowledge of German is advantageous but not compulsory.
