Role Overview

The role involves working as a CSA Quantity Surveyor / Estimator within the Commercial team at LMH Engineering based in Arklow, Co. Wicklow. The position centers on pricing Civil, Structural, and Architectural packages, with particular emphasis on structural steelwork, modular construction, and industrial projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Examine tender requests, drawings, and specifications thoroughly.
• Create Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and conduct precise quantity take-offs.
• Manage requests for information (RFIs), clarifications, and tender document submissions.
• Develop rate build-ups incorporating labor, materials, plant, and subcontractor inputs.
• Oversee and coordinate pricing packages from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Recognize potential risks, assumptions, and opportunities for value engineering.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams including design, operations, and procurement departments.
• Prepare comprehensive handover documentation upon tender success.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or Estimating roles.
• Preferably experienced with structural steelwork and/or architectural package pricing.
• Strong proficiency interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
• Demonstrable experience preparing BOQs and quantity take-offs.
• High commercial acumen paired with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

Desirable Skills

• Background in modular construction, data center projects, or industrial works.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, CostX, or Navisworks software tools.
• Experience in managing subcontractor pricing assessments and comparisons.
