Job Purpose

This role entails managing and coordinating the IT infrastructure supporting all security systems at Sasol, including Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Detection, and CIMMS / OB online systems. You will collaborate with Information Management stakeholders to deliver support and solutions that meet business security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain daily operation of security systems such as CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and OB Online to ensure full functionality, currency of updates, and compliance with security policies.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance and system health assessments.
• Administer and coordinate the underlying network infrastructure (switches, servers, storage) that supports security systems.
• Work closely with the IT department to guarantee system compatibility and align with cybersecurity standards.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, or network issues affecting security technologies.
• Lead or assist in the deployment and upgrade of new security technologies.
• Coordinate effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for installation and integration projects.
• Document system architectures, configurations, and any system changes thoroughly.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations such as POPIA and GDPR in systems management.
• Produce system performance, incident, and maintenance reports.
• Support audits and investigations by providing relevant video footage or access logs.
• Offer technical assistance to security personnel and other system users.
• Conduct training sessions and develop user manuals and standard operating procedures to enhance staff competency in using security systems and protocols.

Education and Accreditation

• National Diploma in IT, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Certifications related to security systems (e.g., CCTV, Alarm Systems, Access Control, CIMMS / OB online) are advantageous.
• PSIRA Grade A certification preferred.
• NKP Accreditation is desirable.
• Firearm Competency certification for business purposes is a plus.

Experience and Skills

• 3 to 5 years of experience in security technology or IT infrastructure supporting security technology.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of assessing technical risks.
• Experience with investigation methodologies including digital forensics.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution capabilities.
• Analytical problem-solving and report writing proficiency.
