Role and Impact
As a key contributor in the two-year Operations Excellence Program, you will tackle client challenges by analyzing issues, framing hypotheses, performing data analyses, and developing actionable recommendations. Your on-the-job coaching experience will be enhanced by formal training focused on core operational disciplines.
This program is designed as a platform for a dynamic and adaptable career within McKinsey’s Operations Practice. You will work on multiple projects across industries, building expertise to help organizations achieve operational excellence.
Training will emphasize six operational pillars: manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, supply chain management, and capital excellence, guided by seasoned operations leaders.
Successful program graduates advance to roles as recognized experts within McKinsey globally, ranging from associates to partners.
Practice and Client Focus
Based from a European office, you will engage with the Operations Practice, providing strategic and practical solutions to complex operational issues. In the Manufacturing service line, you will advise major global companies on lean manufacturing strategies that span diverse industries, focusing on sustainable improvements and operational agility.

Candidate Profile
- Possess a Master’s degree with outstanding academic records.
- Bring prior experience in Lean Manufacturing methodologies like Toyota Production System, kaizen, TPM, JIT, or SMED, and/or in quality and compliance including Six Sigma, quality gates, or regulatory standards such as cGMP.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in professional or extracurricular contexts.
- Flexible to travel within Europe for assignments during the workweek.
- Highly developed analytical and quantitative problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly in English and the local office language, both orally and in writing.
