Community Connector

About the Role

MacKillop Family Services seeks a Community Connector to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families by linking them to essential support networks within the Family Preservation and Reunification Response (FPRR) program. This Victorian Government-funded initiative aims to prevent children at risk from entering or re-entering out-of-home care through a dynamic and mobile service approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain partnerships in the community to facilitate access to housing, education, employment, health, and wellbeing services.
• Engage families with local groups, activities, and services that promote social inclusion and wellbeing.
• Offer guidance, resources, and training that bolster Family Services practitioners' understanding of available community resources and referral channels.
• Work collaboratively with Family Services providers and community stakeholders to enhance support for children and families.
• Stay informed on local service offerings and develop materials that aid families' access to these supports.

Position Details

This is a fixed-term full-time role (38 hours weekly) based in Mildura as part of the Resorting Families Program. The position reports directly to the Family Services Coordinator and extends until June 30, 2027.

Candidate Requirements

• Substantial relevant work experience demonstrating knowledge of community development and child development issues, particularly for young parents and families facing complex challenges.
• Strong understanding of the FPRR and the needs of families involved in family services programs.
• Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines, targets, and program deliverables.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within teams and stakeholders, alongside independent initiative and sound judgement.
• Hold a valid driver's license, Working with Children Card, NDIS Worker Check for risk-assessed roles, and be willing to undergo a satisfactory criminal history check conducted by MacKillop Family Services.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range under SCHADS Level 5: $53.43 to $55.85 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
