Role Overview

The Communications Manager will execute media relations, support partner go-to-market communications, and assist executives, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Communications. Responsibilities include crafting press materials, pitching stories, ensuring approval processes, and maintaining the communications workflow smoothly across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Consistently pitch and secure media coverage in mainstream, tier-1, and industry-specific outlets to elevate MoonPay's global brand presence.
Manage the entire press release process, from drafting to legal review, partner approval, and distribution through PR Newswire.
Develop and nurture a broad network of media contacts, actively seeking new journalists to foster enduring relationships for future press coverage.
Handle incoming press inquiries by coordinating with internal experts to deliver prompt and accurate information.
Compile detailed media coverage reports and track visibility metrics.
Create supporting content such as blog posts for MoonPay’s Newsroom Source and assist with award and industry list submissions.
Prepare briefing materials and talking points for executives prior to conference panels, fireside chats, and media interviews.
Organize speaker logistics including registrations, scheduling, and communication with event organizers.
Coordinate messaging and announcements with product, partnerships, legal, and leadership teams across time zones.
Manage relationships with PR platforms and vendor tools.
Maintain the go-to-market pipeline tracker, identifying and flagging scheduling conflicts or dependencies.

Candidate Profile

Possess 4 to 6 years of experience in journalism, communications, public relations, or media relations, preferably within the crypto, fintech, or fast-growing tech sectors.
Exemplary writing skills capable of producing polished and engaging press releases, blog content, briefing documents, and social media posts.
Able to collaborate effectively across product, partnership, and legal teams in a dynamic, asynchronous work environment.
Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and maintaining a moving editorial calendar.
Experience using wire distribution services and PR software such as Muck Rack or Cision.
Familiarity with cryptocurrency and blockchain concepts, including stablecoins, on/off-ramps, and the regulatory environment.
Optional experience working with external PR agencies and overseeing international media relations.
Agency experience in crypto or fintech PR is a plus but not required.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $140,000 annually.
