Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 7 to 9 years of solid experience in IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD), to be based in Chennai or Bangalore. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level document archiving and retrieval solutions primarily using Python, SQL, and Unix skills. Candidates with banking or financial services background will find this opportunity highly relevant.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain solutions utilizing IBM CMOD technology.
- Develop and manage processes related to document archival, indexing, retrieval, and report distribution.
- Create and optimize intricate SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripting for data extraction, validation, and reporting purposes.
- Author Python scripts to automate workflows, process data, integrate systems, and assist operational support.
- Configure and administer CMOD application groups including folders, user permissions, security protocols, and retention policies.
- Conduct thorough data analysis and root cause diagnosis for issues encountered in production environments.
- Oversee system performance metrics and propose enhancements for scalability and robustness.
- Lead and support application upgrades, migrations, and release management activities.
- Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and support units to deliver effective solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, conduct code reviews, and facilitate knowledge sharing sessions.
- Support Agile processes including incident, problem, and change management.
Required Experience and Skills
- 7 to 9 years experience specifically with IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD).
- Strong command of SQL across platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and integration tasks.
- Experience in document management processes such as archival, indexing, retrieval, and report handling.
- Competence in Linux/Unix shell scripting along with command line utilities.
- Familiarity with batch job scheduling tools such as Autosys or Control-M.
- Experience using version control systems (Git) and continuous integration/deployment tools.
- Proven troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning capabilities.
- Adept analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Previous involvement in Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IBM Content Navigator (ICN) or other ECM platforms.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and system integrations.
- Exposure to cloud environments like AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or DataDog.
- Background in banking or financial services domains.
- Knowledge of document retention policies and compliance standards.
Educational Background
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
