Role Overview
The Cloud Security Specialist will fortify cloud environment security, primarily focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with some exposure to AWS and Azure. Collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and security teams, you'll design, implement, and operate secure cloud-native systems ensuring alignment with industry and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and sustain cloud security frameworks aligned with best practices and shared responsibility concepts.
- Implement IAM and IAP to guarantee least-privilege access policies.
- Set up and control network security with VPCs, Cloud Armor, Cloud VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Apply data protection strategies including encryption, key management, and data loss prevention utilizing Cloud KMS and Secret Manager.
- Monitor and respond to cloud security incidents through Security Command Center, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Monitoring.
- Conduct cloud security assessments, vulnerability evaluations, and detect misconfigurations.
- Support response efforts and forensic analysis for cloud security incidents.
- Integrate security measures within Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Ensure adherence to security standards including ISO 27001, NIST, and NCA/ECC.
- Create and update cloud security policies, standards, and hardening procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to mitigate risks and enhance security continuously.
Qualifications
- 3 to 6 years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity, or infrastructure security domains.
- Hands-on expertise securing at least one leading cloud platform, preferably GCP.
- Thorough knowledge of cloud architecture principles and the shared responsibility model.
- Proficiency in identity and access management, network security including segmentation and firewalls, and data protection/encryption methodologies.
- Experience utilizing cloud security services such as Security Command Center, Cloud KMS, and Cloud Armor.
- Capability to detect, analyze, and correct cloud misconfigurations and vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Experience weaving security into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, and National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA/ECC).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication abilities.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to independently advance security programs.
