Opportunity Overview

We are looking for experienced Civil Estimators to join our Pre-Contracts Team on the Sunshine Coast. This role offers the chance to be deeply involved in pricing and preparing competitive tenders for a range of large-scale civil infrastructure ventures, subdivisions, bulk earthworks, and roadworks projects across Queensland and Northern NSW. This is a permanent, full-time position aimed at candidates wishing to contribute to complex projects while enjoying an excellent work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Lead thorough pricing and tender preparation for civil construction projects.
• Analyze drawings, scope statements, and contracts to formulate competitive bids.
• Identify project risks, uncover opportunities, and suggest value engineering improvements.
• Liaise with construction delivery teams to ensure tender methodologies are practical and aligned.
• Engage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers during the bid process.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimating staff and support enhancement of estimating processes.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants will be commercially astute civil professionals ready to own the estimating process end-to-end and positively influence project outcomes. Applicants currently working as estimators, project engineers wanting to move into estimating, or project managers with pre-contract experience are well-suited for this role.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience estimating for civil projects such as subdivisions, bulk earthworks, roadworks, or infrastructure developments.
• Strong skills interpreting engineering drawings and developing cost estimates from fundamental principles.
• Familiarity with estimating software or takeoff tools like Benchmark, Bluebeam, or Microsoft Project.
• Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify cost efficiencies and alternative construction methodologies.
• Experience mentoring junior team members is highly desirable.
