Role Overview

We are seeking a committed Support Worker to join our team based in Emerald, Queensland. This role ensures smooth daily functioning of the community through effective governance, upkeep of services, and maintaining a high standard of living for all residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform general ground maintenance to uphold the community’s appearance.
• Conduct minor repairs and preventative maintenance activities to maintain facility standards.
• Monitor and coordinate with contractors to ensure a secure environment.
• Assist the Village Manager with operational duties as needed.
• Maintain and improve the appearance of communal gardens, lawns, median strips, and other shared outdoor spaces.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderly presentation of all common areas including pathways, driveways, restrooms, and public spaces.
• Carry out routine gardening tasks such as watering, trimming, pruning, weeding, raking, planting, mulching, and fertilizing within the community and adjacent areas.

Candidate Profile

• Availability to work on a rotating 7-day roster including weekends with variable days and times.
• Experience in property maintenance, gardening, or facilities upkeep, preferably within holiday park, hotel, or hospitality settings.
• Empathetic, patient, and respectful approach in meeting the diverse needs of residents.
• Dependable, adaptable, and dedicated to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and physical fitness to perform manual labor tasks.
• Familiarity with operating gardening and maintenance equipment would be advantageous.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with a professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
• Willingness to undertake a range of varied tasks as needed.
