Opportunity Overview

Ventia is seeking Entry Level Operators to support BHP's smelting operations at Olympic Dam. The role involves operating heavy machinery such as Moxie dump trucks, water carts, and fuel trucks to manage the transportation of bulk materials including slag, sand, water, and fuel, while maintaining stringent safety standards.

Role Details

This is a permanent role on a 2-weeks-on, 1-week-off rotating shift schedule, typically involving one week of day shifts followed by one week of night shifts. The company offers return flights between Adelaide and Roxby Downs, accommodation, and paid travel time of six hours on travel days. On-site shifts are 12 hours long. Arrangements for local living may be discussed.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various heavy vehicles such as dump trucks, water carts, and fuel trucks with on-the-job training provided.
• Perform tasks including loading, unloading, relocating, and distributing materials.
• Comply with all safety protocols and site regulations.
• Potential opportunities for training on additional equipment such as slag haulers, excavators, loaders, mobile crushers, track screens, and integrated tool carriers.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Heavy Rigid (HR) or higher class driver’s licence.
• Experience operating excavators and possession of a current excavator ticket is highly valued.
• Strong communication abilities paired with a proactive and safety-oriented approach.
• Capability and willingness to undergo medical evaluations including drug and alcohol testing, and obtain a clean police clearance.
