BIM Modeler - Structural Buildings and Utility Structures

Overview

Join Parsons as a BIM Modeler specializing in structures, supporting a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects in Dubai. This role involves close collaboration with BIM Coordinators, Structural Engineers, and Project Delivery Teams to develop precise BIM models and construction documents while ensuring compliance with project standards and digital delivery protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist BIM Coordinators and delivery teams in daily BIM implementation tasks.
• Create and update accurate 3D structural BIM models and related 2D drawings for buildings and utility structures following project Level of Detail (LOD) and company standards.
• Generate various technical drawings such as plans, elevations, sections, reinforcement details, and structural steel documentation from BIM models.
• Coordinate structural models with architectural, civil, MEP, and infrastructure disciplines to ensure seamless deliverables.
• Conduct clash detection, model coordination, and constructability assessments using BIM software tools.
• Engage in interdisciplinary coordination meetings and address model-related challenges.
• Extract quantities, schedules, and packaging documentation from BIM where applicable.
• Maintain compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), quality procedures, and client requirements for all models and deliverables.
• Manage Project Information Models (PIM) via agreed workflows, Common Data Environment protocols, and digital standards.
• Prepare BIM submissions and support design stage reviews.
• Perform model quality assurance, validation, and audits.
• Collaborate with Structural Engineers and Lead Designers to meet project milestones timely.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering Technology, BIM, or related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience with Revit Structure in building structures or utility building projects.
• Proficient in Revit Structure and AutoCAD, including creation and maintenance of structural Revit families and templates.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel modeling and detailing techniques.
• Experience setting up Revit projects, including worksets, linked models, shared coordinates, and federated BIM models.
• Familiarity with Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), and Dynamo for model coordination and automation.
• Capability to execute clash detection, coordination reviews, model validation, and produce high-quality construction documents from Revit models.
• Understanding of BIM requirements such as ISO 19650 standards, LOD, naming conventions, and digital workflows.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams encompassing Architectural, Structural, Civil, and MEP disciplines.

Desirable Skills and Additional Experience

• Knowledge of collaboration platforms like ProjectWise, Bluebeam, Synchro, Civil 3D, Autodesk Docs.
• Experience with parametric modeling and automation using Dynamo.
• Understanding of quantity take-off and model-based project delivery approaches.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting digital delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE is advantageous.
