About The Grace and Opportunity
The Grace Westport Estate is an exciting new hotel set to open in Spring 2026, located on Ireland's scenic Wild Atlantic Way in Westport, County Mayo. This role offers a full-time, pre-opening opportunity to be part of this remarkable establishment.
Role Summary
The Bartender will deliver a refined and engaging beverage service in both the bar and lounge areas. Acting as a brand ambassador, this position blends technical drink preparation, guest interaction, operational discipline, and maintenance of service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous, professional, and personalized service to all guests within the bar and lounge spaces.
- Promptly greet guests, accurately take and serve beverage orders ensuring an attentive service experience.
- Engage guests in a polished manner to enhance their overall visit.
- Proactively anticipate guest needs and efficiently handle queries or concerns.
- Promote signature cocktails, premium spirits, and hotel offerings to meet revenue targets.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in line with approved recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Maintain consistent quality, flavor, and appearance of all beverages served.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of beverage menus, wine selections, and current promotions.
- Implement responsible alcohol service practices following licensing laws and hotel policies.
- Complete bar setup and closure routines before and after service periods.
- Manage stock levels of drinks, garnishes, glassware, and supplies appropriately.
- Assist with inventory control through correct stock rotation, ordering, and minimizing waste.
- Report any breakages, shortages, or discrepancies promptly to supervisory staff.
- Upkeep high cleanliness standards across bar counters, equipment, storage, and back-of-house areas.
- Comply with HACCP guidelines, hygiene standards, and local health and safety regulations.
- Handle glassware, equipment, and chemicals safely.
- Collaborate with front-of-house, kitchen teams, and management to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Communicate guest preferences, requests, and operational requirements clearly.
- Participate in training sessions, briefings, and team meetings as needed.
- Support team members during busy periods to maintain service excellence.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by management as necessary.
Experience & Skills
- Between 1 to 3 years of experience as a Bartender, ideally within a 4 or 5-star hotel, upscale bar, or premium dining establishment.
- Strong expertise in classic and modern cocktails, a wide range of spirits, wines, and beers.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail and strong service orientation.
- Capability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance along with a positive and dedicated work ethic.
- Proficiency with numerical tasks related to billing and inventory.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland is required.
