Job Overview

This role involves preparing and serving coffee and espresso beverages along with related food and drinks. The position requires adherence to HACCP food safety guidelines and delivering high-quality operation standards. The barista will engage with customers and team members professionally to ensure a positive experience.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks for customers and catering orders following standardized recipes and measurements.
• Accurately process customer orders through POS systems and handle cash/credit payments.
• Restock condiments, beverages, and supplies while keeping the service area clean and organized.
• Maintain appropriate food presentation, portion sizes, and serving temperature aligning with HACCP standards.
• Sanitize equipment, utensils, and workstations regularly and thoroughly.
• Implement correct food preparation methods utilizing approved recipes and production guidelines.
• Keep display units clean and free of debris during service hours.
• Greet and interact courteously with customers, ensuring satisfaction and promptly communicating any concerns to supervisors.
• Deliver service efficiently to minimize wait times and support customer decision-making through knowledge of menu offerings and sales techniques.
• Maintain attractive merchandising of food displays and serve items in a neat and appealing manner.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a barista is preferred to ensure familiarity with coffee preparation and customer service.

Work Schedule and Location

Position is based at UF Health Flagler Hospital, 400 Health Park Boulevard, Saint Augustine, FL 32086. Full-time hours run approximately from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, with some variability in days. Applications are accepted only online.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting hourly wage: $17.50.
