This position supports back-office payment operations for a major Canadian bank. It is a fast-moving financial operations role designed for someone who is highly organized, precise, and comfortable handling payment records, documentation, and daily output targets within strict turnaround times.
The work is non-customer-facing and centers on processing payment requests for banking clients in Canada and the United States. You will verify payment information, check supporting documents, update internal tools, manage work items through a ticketing workflow, and coordinate with internal teams to keep requests moving accurately and on time.
Core duties
- Examine customer payment requests, account data, supporting paperwork, and transaction details to confirm they are complete and correct.
- Handle payment requests, transaction-related tasks, account updates, and other operational work within required deadlines.
- Support payment activity for clients in both Canada and the U.S.
- Use a ticketing platform to organize assigned work, follow up on action items, and track daily requests.
- Review payment files, input information, update banking systems, and monitor incoming operational items.
- Check payment instructions, account notes, and related supporting documents as needed.
- Make sure all work aligns with internal rules, procedures, regulatory expectations, and service-level commitments.
- Spot problems, investigate mismatches, and escalate unusual items or exceptions when necessary.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders by email, phone, and chat tools to resolve payment-related questions.
- Provide internal teams with accurate updates on payment status, processing timelines, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accuracy while working through a large daily volume of payment operations tasks.
- Help with reporting, tracking, and organizing payment data when needed.
- Contribute to improvements that help keep payment operations accurate, efficient, and compliant.
Candidate profile
