Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Develop backend systems leveraging at least 4 years of experience, with a strong preference for Python and asynchronous frameworks like FastAPI.
• Implement solutions involving large language models (LLMs), including agent design, prompt engineering, structured data outputs, tool and function invocation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge base integration, safety guardrails, and fallback strategies for low confidence predictions.
• Utilize AWS services including EventBridge, ECS Fargate, Lambda, RDS PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB efficiently.
• Apply principles of event-driven architecture such as ensuring at-least-once delivery, idempotency, dead-letter queue handling, and saga transactional patterns.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, constraints, and indexing strategies.
• Design RESTful APIs adhering to asynchronous programming practices and incorporate automated testing.
• Own complete service lifecycle within a rapidly paced, milestone-focused sprint environment, demonstrating independence and accountability.
• Operate agentic AI platforms throughout the software development cycle—from coding and testing to debugging and review (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot Agents, Windsurf).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare technology, specifically with EDI 270/271, 837/835 transactions, Medicaid eligibility or claims processing workflows.
• Familiarity with prompt evaluation tools such as LangSmith or PromptFlow, or custom evaluation systems.
• Implementation of consumers for AWS Kinesis Data Streams and real-time telemetry data ingestion.
• Frontend technologies including React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and map APIs (ESRI or Google).
• Infrastructure as Code expertise with Pulumi, understanding AWS multi-Availability Zone deployments, and Redshift Serverless materialized views.
