Avionics Engineer - Airbus A330

Overview

We are looking for a highly qualified and driven Avionics Engineer specialized in the Airbus A330 to support our Engineering team based in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. This role involves crucial support for Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) functions and active line/base maintenance efforts to maintain the airworthiness, dependability, and technical soundness of the A330's avionics, electrical, and cabin electronic systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and other regulatory or manufacturer directives pertinent to A330 avionics systems.
• Create and disseminate Engineering Orders and technical instructions aligned with applicable airworthiness standards.
• Analyze fleet technical data, pilot feedback, recurring defects, and reliability patterns to determine corrective actions and enhance fleet operations.
• Contribute to the review and refinement of the avionics and electrical segments within the Aircraft Maintenance Programme.
• Evaluate and aid in implementing modifications, Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), software updates, and avionics system enhancements.
• Offer advanced troubleshooting assistance to Line and Base Maintenance teams for intricate or repetitive avionics problems.
• Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery by coordinating with Airbus Technical Support, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and internal maintenance groups to expedite solution delivery.
• Oversee and track Maintenance Equipment List (MEL) deferred defects, ensuring adherence to rectification timelines and operational mandates.
• Ensure all engineering data, repairs, and modifications align with EASA Part-CAMO, Part-145, or local authority standards.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and assist with internal and external airworthiness audits.
• Serve as liaison with OEMs such as Airbus, Thales, Honeywell, and other system providers concerning technical inquiries, reliability matters, and warranty claims.
• Act as a technical authority on avionics maintenance, supporting quality assurance, safety, and effective repair strategies.
• Adhere strictly to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management protocols, procedures, and controls.
• Perform all tasks in compliance with departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Mandatory Airbus A330 type rating certification.
• At least eight years’ experience within an airline, MRO, Technical Services, CAMO, Base or Line Maintenance Engineering setting.
• Extensive technical expertise in Airbus A330 avionics and electrical systems including Fly-By-Wire, Autoflight, Navigation, Communication, EFIS, ADIRS, and Central Maintenance Systems.
• Proven ability to work with Airbus technical documentation such as AMM, IPC, TSM, ASM, ESPM, and SRM.
• Experienced in defect analysis, reliability monitoring, troubleshooting, and technical reporting.
• Prior experience with A330 MRTT aircraft favored.
• Familiarity with military aircraft maintenance and special mission systems is an advantage.
