Job Overview
The Associate Manager responsible for Facilities & Maintenance will oversee the operations and upkeep of material handling equipment (MHE), lifts, and escalators. The role involves managing preventive maintenance, repairs, safety compliance, spare parts procurement, and initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce and monitor safety protocols to ensure adherence to organizational, industrial, and environmental safety standards.
- Manage maintenance activities for MHE, lifts, and escalators to support uninterrupted production and logistical processes.
- Design and supervise preventive maintenance programs to minimize unexpected breakdowns and boost equipment dependability.
- Lead prompt troubleshooting efforts during equipment malfunctions to maintain operational continuity and safety standards.
- Control inventory and procurement of spare parts, ensuring essential components are readily available to prevent repair delays.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all maintenance operations, repairs, and inspections utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing equipment performance, energy efficiency, and incorporation of advanced technologies.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning processes for new equipment, ensuring seamless integration with current systems.
Collaborations
- Internal Partners: Mechanical Lead, Control & Instrumentation Lead, Electrical Area Incharge, Electrical Lead, Mechanical Shift Engineer.
- External Partners: HVAC equipment suppliers, maintenance service contractors, industry associations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Eight to ten years of proven experience in managing maintenance functions focused on MHE, lifts, and escalators within industrial or facilities management environments.
