Job Overview

The Associate Manager at AOCC is tasked with overseeing comprehensive Slot Management, Capacity Planning, and the Statistics & Planning Cell (SPC) functions for GHIAL. Slot Management aims to optimize constrained airport capacity by applying IATA Worldwide Slot Guidelines (WSG) and local regulations, ensuring efficient airport infrastructure usage and maximizing benefits to all users while supporting revenue generation. The SPC is responsible for gathering and distributing air traffic movement, passenger counts, cargo tonnage, and mail data to stakeholders, offering Management Information System (MIS) support, and driving long-term strategic planning including forecasting, master planning, and process enhancement.

Primary Duties

  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of airport resources such as parking stands, boarding gates, check-in counters, and baggage reclaim areas during shift operations to uphold optimal functionality and meet customer demands.
  • Manage the accuracy and timely updates of flight status information using Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) and public announcements for passengers, internal staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Promptly notify and manage any airport emergencies following the established Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), Bomb Threat Contingency Plan (BTCP), Fire Strategy Plan, and Aircraft Hijack Plan during operational shifts.
  • Lead and coordinate a shift team comprising at least seven staff members to maintain seamless airport operations.

Stakeholder Interaction

  • Maintain operational communication with airlines and ground handling services to align operational needs.
  • Coordinate with government agencies such as CISF and Air Traffic Control to ensure smooth airport functioning.
  • Collaborate internally with department heads, peers, and other staff members.

Performance Metrics

  • Minimization of complaints and adverse feedback.
  • Enhancement of flight on-time performance (OTP).
  • Effective management and resolution of emergency incidences and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree from a recognized university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Capability to operate various software applications relevant to airport operations.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in aviation operations is mandatory.
