Job Overview
This Assistant Support Worker role, based in Newmarket, County Cork, involves assisting individuals with a range of physical, mental, and intellectual challenges to live fulfilling lives through dedicated care and support. The position includes shift work structured over seven days and 24 hours to meet ongoing client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in following their daily personal care and activity plans.
- Provide accompaniment and support during community outings.
- Help service users engage in education and skill-building activities, promoting achievement of personal goals.
- Support clients in daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and facilitating family visits.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, professional standards, regulatory requirements, and codes of practice in daily work.
- Participate in shift rotations delivering continuous care throughout the week and day.
Requirements
- No formal qualifications are required to join as an Assistant Support Worker; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Individuals wishing to work as Social Care Workers must hold a Level 7 or 8 degree in Social Care, Healthcare, or related fields and be registered with CORU.
- Relevant practical experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A positive work ethic and a genuine passion for supporting individuals are essential.
- Possession of a full driving license or actively working towards achieving one is necessary.
