This opening is for a Retail Assistant Manager / Assistant Store Leader Trainee in Cranbrook, British Columbia. The role is full time, onsite, and suited to someone who enjoys working alongside a management team and has prior supervisory experience. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Leader in supervising, coaching, and training store employees to deliver excellent customer service.
- Help build a strong team by identifying suitable candidates, developing future leaders, and encouraging productivity and retention.
- Assist with the execution of merchandising and marketing initiatives.
- Handle cash, manage fuel transactions, and promote the loyalty program.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked store by following health and sanitation standards.
- Communicate clearly in both spoken and written form and work well with others.
- Use computer tools effectively, with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- Work in a fast-paced environment that may involve multitasking, repeated bending, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory or retail management experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred, though it is not required for candidates with at least 1 year of retail management experience.
- Valid driver’s license from the state or province of residence, along with maintained automotive liability insurance during employment.
- Ability to multitask and handle the physical demands of the job.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office tools.
- Comfort with cash handling, fuel operations, and store procedures.
