Assistant Project Manager - Interior Design

Role Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will collaborate closely with the interior design team to develop and execute innovative design solutions. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles and design methodologies, alongside strong technical skills to support project advancement from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the interior design team to create and refine design concepts.
• Apply understanding of architecture and design processes to facilitate project development.
• Investigate materials and concepts for technical validation aiding design decisions.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule by coordinating tasks effectively.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and suggest improvements for ongoing designs.
• Assist in preparing and delivering presentations for clients.
• Choose appropriate fabrics, furnishings, décor, and finishes while adhering to budget limitations.
• Demonstrate strong design sensibility coupled with technical capabilities to carry projects from ideas to realization.
• Plan, design, and furnish interiors across residential, commercial, or industrial sectors.
• Possess working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and false ceiling installations.
• Liaise with clients to understand their design needs and project scope.
• Utilize AutoCAD, SketchUp with V-Ray rendering, Photoshop, Enscape, and 3ds Max proficiently.
• Interpret and formulate working drawings such as layout plans, furniture details, ceiling plans, electrical plans, elevations, and sectional views.
• Create practical, attractive designs that meet functional goals such as enhancing productivity or lifestyle quality.
• Oversee the smooth progression of design phases ensuring no compromise on quality, budget, or timelines.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma in Interior Design is mandatory.
• Experience ranging from 2 to 8 years in the interior design field.
• Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp (with V-Ray), Photoshop, Enscape, and 3ds Max.
• Creative flair with versatility, strong conceptual and visual skills, and originality.
• Proven design expertise supported by a robust portfolio.
• High competence in various facets of interior design.
• Professionalism in time management, cost control, and meeting deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
