Role overview
This role supports the Head of Merchandise Planning and the Merchandise Planner by carrying out day-to-day trade analysis, turning performance data into practical insight, and helping the wider team deliver key operating model targets. It is a fixed-term maternity cover assignment for 12 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
What you will do
- Support the Head of Merchandise Planning and the Merchandise Planner with analysis that informs strategic choices.
- Track trading performance and highlight both opportunities and emerging risks.
- Take part in trade meetings with the planning leadership team.
- Provide insight into stock health and sell-through so customer demand is better understood and met.
- Combine performance analysis with customer data to improve trading decisions.
- Build forecasts in PGRTPs and Excel, assess different scenarios, suggest short- and long-term budgets, and update them regularly using feedback from trading and retail teams.
- Maintain commitment, OTB and intake records.
- Use revenue and profitability as core measures of success.
- Deliver analysis and visibility on end-to-end performance KPIs at product group level.
What ASOS is looking for
The ideal candidate will bring a commercial mindset, strong numerical ability, and hands-on experience in fashion merchandising and/or data insights. You should be comfortable maintaining sales, stock, intake and OTB trackers and forecasts, and able to make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment. The role also calls for cross-functional collaboration, strong organisation, initiative, resilience under pressure, excellent communication, attention to detail, and intermediate Excel skills.
Working style
ASOS expects colleagues to spend at least three days per week in the office. The company believes working together in person helps teams move faster, share knowledge more effectively, and build a stronger culture.
