Role Overview
As Assistant Manager - Events Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring flawless execution of all events ranging from conferences and weddings to VIP and outdoor gatherings. You will oversee daily event operations and lead a dedicated team, ensuring compliance with Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day functions of the Events department, guaranteeing smooth event delivery.
- Coordinate and oversee a variety of events including social functions, conferences, and VIP gatherings.
- Ensure setups conform strictly to BEOs and brand standards.
- Conduct both pre-event briefings and post-event assessments to optimize outcomes.
- Address operational issues swiftly during events to maintain seamless execution.
- Maintain event venues to impeccable standards of presentation and readiness.
- Lead and mentor Event Supervisors, Team Leaders, casual staff, and Banquet Associates.
- Facilitate team briefings, resource allocation, and manpower planning daily.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, staff training, and performance evaluations.
- Champion a collaborative and positive team atmosphere.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison during events to enhance guest satisfaction and manage feedback.
- Develop strong partnerships with clients and internal departments.
- Review BEOs and contribute to planning meetings to ensure flawless coordination.
- Collaborate across departments such as Culinary, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, Sales & Marketing, and Front Office to fulfill event requirements including audio-visual, furniture, linen, décor, and staffing.
- Assist in labor scheduling with an emphasis on payroll cost control.
- Monitor expenses to support budget adherence and assist in inventory and equipment control.
- Prepare and submit operational reports as necessary.
