Assistant Land Surveyor

Overview

Urbacon Saudi Company is hiring an Assistant Land Surveyor to aid senior surveyors and engineers in carrying out land surveys critical to construction, infrastructure, and land development projects throughout Saudi Arabia. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field alongside professional surveying qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate surveying instruments including total stations, GPS units, and levels.
• Conduct field measurements of distances, angles, and elevations using appropriate surveying tools.
• Accurately collect and document survey data following standard procedures.
• Analyze survey outputs to produce maps, charts, and reports that support project planning and engineering designs.
• Perform upkeep of surveying equipment by cleaning, calibrating, and routine maintenance.
• Assist in drafting surveying documents such as plats, boundary descriptions, and legal records.
• Collaborate closely with surveyors, engineers, and project teams ensuring survey accuracy and timely completion.
• Comply with safety rules and regulations on-site and during field work.
• Help address technical challenges or inconsistencies in survey data.
• Support senior staff with additional tasks contributing to project goals and schedules.
• Participate in health, safety, and environmental initiatives including awareness and incident handling activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification in surveying required.
• At least 3 years total work experience with a minimum of 2 years relevant to surveying; experience within the GCC region for 2 years is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surveying mathematics, computer software, and computations related to land surveying.
• Understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and best practices.
• Ability to interpret and create engineering sketches, maps, and drawings.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities for data interpretation and resolving measurement issues.
• Attention to detail ensuring exact measurements and boundary delineations.
• Familiarity with laws, regulations, and professional standards governing surveying.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably functional knowledge of SAP.
