Assistant Engineer - Equipment Maintenance

Role Overview

The position of Assistant Engineer in Equipment Maintenance focuses on the upkeep and testing of high-voltage substation equipment to ensure reliable operation. Candidates should have a strong background in electrical engineering with hands-on experience in transmission substations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and testing activities on 400 kV and 132 kV transmission substation equipment.
• Carry out condition monitoring for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Power Transformers, and Shunt Reactors to assess their operational status.
• Interpret test data and compile detailed technical reports documenting findings.
• Diagnose and resolve faults within electrical equipment, applying troubleshooting techniques.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols when working in live electrical substation environments.
• Comply with established permit-to-work systems and maintenance procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain clear and effective communication using technical English to report and coordinate activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience if degree holder, or 6 years if diploma holder.
