Role Overview

The Asset Protection Associate is crucial in upholding a safe, secure, and professional shopping environment for customers, employees, visitors, and vendors. By adhering to Asset Protection protocols and exhibiting professional conduct, the role aims to minimize financial and physical losses, reduce inventory shrinkage, and enhance store profitability. Through vigilance, observation, and teamwork, the associate protects people, merchandise, and the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily store patrols to ensure security measures such as doors, showcases, and security systems are functioning and take corrective action when necessary.
• Investigate incidents related to financial and physical shrinkage, providing clear findings to Store Leadership, and escalate cases according to company guidelines when needed.
• Support investigations regarding internal and external theft, organized retail crime, and concerns raised by Walmart Canada Global Ethics.
• Assist with emergency response procedures, such as store evacuations during fire or other emergencies, and participate in store team tasks to support operations.
• Carry out lawful external apprehensions in line with company policies and legal requirements.
• Collect and communicate information from various sources effectively to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparent reporting of issues and findings.
• Fulfill additional duties to meet business and Asset Protection needs as they evolve.
• Maintain flexibility to work diverse shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support consistent store operations.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Manage high volumes of work in a fast-paced retail environment, especially during overnight shifts, by staying focused and energized.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including standing for long periods, bending, lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Complete repetitive tasks like stocking, organizing, and zoning products with meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.10.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Possession of a valid Security Guard License is required.
