About the Role

Join a dynamic retail design team in North York, ON, working primarily on-site with a hybrid schedule of four days in the office. This 6-month contract position offers the opportunity to help craft innovative retail environments that enhance customer experiences through a blend of creative insight and technical skill.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine innovative retail design concepts that meet project goals, brand guidelines, and technical specifications.
  • Produce comprehensive design documentation including store layouts, interior elevations, and signage packages.
  • Collaborate with senior designers, consultants, and stakeholders to address design challenges and implement cost-efficient solutions.
  • Work closely with project managers to track project status, relay updates, and resolve design-related issues throughout project phases.
  • Coordinate with operational teams to ensure designs are practical, operationally efficient, and support business needs.
  • Identify and proactively solve technical and design problems while upholding quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Interior Design, or a related technical field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience from co-op placements, internships, academic projects, or professional roles in retail or commercial design is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, design standards, and retail design best practices.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and REVIT software is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities and a proactive attitude toward learning and teamwork.

Additional Information

  • Workplace located in North York, Ontario, with hybrid work approach (4 days on site).
  • Contract length is 6 months with possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements.
  • Strong command of English required for communication.
