Together, we aim to deliver premium aquatic products while promoting sustainable resource use and global food security.

Role Overview

We seek a skilled Aquaculture Manager to oversee all aquaculture operational aspects including production planning, sustainability programs, and biological performance. The successful candidate will manage hatchery and grow-out facilities, fish health protocols, environmental compliance obligations, and optimize production processes through cross-disciplinary collaboration. The goal is to ensure efficient, sustainable, and profitable aquaculture operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute aquaculture strategies, production frameworks, operational standards, and sustainability initiatives aligned with company objectives.
  • Supervise operations within hatcheries, nurseries, grow-out facilities, recirculating systems (RAS), ponds, cages, offshore farms, and land-based setups as applicable.
  • Collaborate with specialists in Marine Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Nutrition, Environmental Sciences, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Leadership to enhance production and sustainability.
  • Coordinate production planning including stocking, harvesting, feeding regimes, biomass management, and inventory control.
  • Manage fish and shellfish health programs involving monitoring, biosecurity, disease prevention, vaccinations, welfare, and liaising with veterinarians.
  • Regularly assess water quality parameters like temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, ammonia, nitrate, to maintain optimal growth environments.
  • Implement feeding programs and nutritional plans that improve feed conversion ratios and reduce waste output.
  • Perform biological performance evaluations, forecasting, mortality tracking, growth analysis, and optimizing yield.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental laws, aquaculture licensing, food safety protocols, animal welfare standards, and sustainability certifications.
  • Oversee maintenance of facilities, equipment, water treatment/aeration systems, pumps, filters, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Track and analyze KPIs such as survival rates, feed conversion ratios, growth metrics, biomass production, operational costs, environmental compliance, sustainability indexes, and quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct operational audits, environmental and risk assessments, benchmarking, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, procurement of feed and resources, biological inventories, laboratory services, consultancy engagements, and strategic aquaculture projects.
  • Lead digital transformation utilizing AI-driven analytics, IoT water quality sensors, predictive disease detection, automated feeding, digital farm management, workflow automation, and business intelligence tools.
  • Leverage AquaManager, AKVAconnect, Innovasea, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Tableau, ERP systems, GIS, environmental monitoring tech, and aquaculture analytics to enhance farm performance and reporting.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, sustainability and production performance reports, biological assessments, risk analyses, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and development for aquaculture technicians, supervisors, hatchery staff, fish health experts, and cross-functional teams fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, sustainability, and animal welfare.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Fisheries, Animal Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, or related fields.
  • Master's degree in Aquaculture, Marine or Fisheries Science, Environmental or Business Administration (MBA) is highly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Aquaculture Management, HACCP, Food Safety, Biosecurity, Project Management Professional (PMP), or sustainability credentials are advantageous.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in aquaculture, fisheries, hatcheries, aquatic animal health, or production roles.
  • At least two years' experience in leadership roles managing aquaculture facilities, teams, or biological production programs is desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aquaculture systems, fish nutrition, animal health, water quality control, biosecurity protocols, environmental sustainability, production scheduling, and regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency with industry software including AquaManager, AKVAconnect, Innovasea platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau, ERP, GIS, environmental monitoring tools, and aquaculture management applications.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with advanced technologies such as AI-enabled aquaculture analytics, IoT water quality monitoring, automated feeders, predictive health analytics, digital twin systems, and smart farm platforms is a significant plus.
  • Proven leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical problem-solving, project management, budgeting, and operational planning capabilities.
  • Ability to manage complex, multiple aquaculture projects balancing production efficiency, animal welfare, environmental regulations, budgets, and schedules.
  • Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams across production, research, regulatory, executive, and supplier functions, with occasional travel for on-site inspections, reviews, environmental checks, conferences, and strategic meetings.

What We Provide

  • Fully remote working environment with flexible collaboration across global teams.
  • Competitive salary package along with performance-driven incentives.
  • Extensive health and wellbeing benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development within aquaculture.
  • Access to cutting-edge AI-powered aquaculture systems, advanced monitoring technologies, smart farm platforms, and innovative sustainable production solutions.
