Position Overview
An experienced and self-directed videographer is sought within the Office of Communications and Community Relations. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will be responsible for producing and editing diverse video content including training modules, educational material, documentaries, interviews, and event footage that serve judges, staff, and the general public. This position requires occasional onsite presence and travel to events, along with proficiency in photography gadgets.
Work Environment and Remote Work
This job supports a hybrid schedule, allowing up to two work-from-home days per week given required technology setups such as multifactor authentication and reliable high-speed internet. Regular physical attendance at the workplace is essential.
Key Duties
- Conceptualize, produce, and edit video content for court websites, Vimeo, and social media channels.
- Develop storyboard drafts prior to video production.
- Utilize advanced video editing and post-production software including integration of graphics, closed captioning, and visual effects.
- Manage inventory of video and audio equipment and coordinate shooting schedules for studio and field productions.
- Operate DSLR/mirrorless cameras and professional audio recording gear at planned shoots.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the communications team.
- Apply creative approaches and maintain strong attention to detail in production quality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college along with five years of professional experience, including at least two years in program-related roles such as development, coordination, or administrative research.
- Preference for degrees specifically in film or television production or related fields.
- Proven expertise in video production and editing software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience publishing videos on platforms like Vimeo and social media is desirable.
Substitutions to formal education include additional professional experience on a year-for-year basis, associate degrees with added experience, or advanced degrees such as master’s or law degrees that may reduce experience requirements.
