Role Overview

This hands-on Workshop Assistant position is perfect for those with a mechanical mindset and a willingness to learn. You will play an essential role in providing operational and logistical support throughout the workshop and across diverse industries.

Main Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver first-rate customer service to all business units
• Monitor, order, and manage workshop supplies and consumables
• Handle inwards goods and efficiently organize stock orders
• Prepare and paint gearboxes according to specifications
• Help maintain inventory accuracy and participate in regular stocktakes
• Conduct quality checks on inbound and outbound projects
• Pack and dispatch goods safely and accurately
• Uphold the condition of workshop tools and equipment
• Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks
• Take active measures to foster a safe work environment, following OSH and company safety policies

Key Requirements

• Lift items weighing up to 20kg—must be physically fit
• Hold a valid New Zealand driver’s licence
• Possess or be willing to obtain a forklift operator qualification (training provided if required)
• Clear understanding of health and safety standards within industrial settings
• Demonstrate independence, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in daily tasks
• Display a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
