UI/UX Designer

About the Role

This opportunity is for a skilled UI/UX Designer based in Australia looking to craft engaging and user-friendly experiences for a global audience of mobile gamers. The designer will take charge of developing game interfaces that combine aesthetics and usability, contributing directly to enhancing the fun and quality of mobile games.

You will be involved throughout the design lifecycle, starting from wireframes and user flows to final polished interfaces and interactive in-game assets. The role requires close cooperation with multidisciplinary teams and supports a fully remote work setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design visually attractive interfaces, user interaction systems, and smooth UX flows for games from initial ideas to implementation.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and detailed mockups that transform gameplay concepts into intuitive player experiences.
• Develop various game UI components including menus, HUDs, icons and pop-ups that enhance gameplay interaction.
• Collaborate effectively with Art Directors, Game Designers, and Producers to ensure UI/UX solutions align seamlessly with gameplay goals.
• Maintain visual harmony across interfaces by applying principles of composition, typography, color theory, and hierarchy.
• Adapt interfaces for different mobile devices considering usability and accessibility needs.
• Refine designs by incorporating feedback, player data insights, and performance metrics for ongoing improvement.
• Inject innovative ideas to enrich the overall visual feel and identity of game projects.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional UI/UX design experience in the gaming industry, preferably at a middle or senior level.
• A strong portfolio featuring designs from released commercial game projects.
• Deep understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, interaction design, usability, and responsive layouts.
• Advanced skills in visual design elements such as typography, color theory, composition, and hierarchy.
• Experience designing end-to-end game interfaces including creation of wireframes to high-fidelity assets.
• Proficiency with design tools like Photoshop, Figma, Illustrator, or equivalents.
• Knowledge of designing game-specific UI parts like HUDs, menus, icons, and interactive elements.
• High attention to detail and ability to balance creativity with user-centric design.
• Good command of English at an upper-intermediate level or above.
• Genuine enthusiasm for gaming and understanding of the industry trends.
• Bonus: Familiarity with player metrics analysis, usability testing, free-to-play mechanics, or user behavior evaluation.
