Transporter

Position Overview

Located at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL, this full-time role involves providing patient transportation services across departments under the supervision of transport leadership. The transporter safely transfers patients between hospital areas, assists with mobility including wheelchair to bed transitions, and documents patient data precisely in EPIC/Hall Pass systems, verifying two forms of patient identification prior to transport.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely throughout hospital departments as directed.
• Assist patients with movement including transfers to and from wheelchairs and beds.
• Accurately record patient information in EPIC/Hall Pass and ensure patient identity verification using two forms of ID.
• Support interdisciplinary teams with miscellaneous tasks when not actively transporting patients.
• Maintain hospital environment appearance by following established procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient flow and operational support.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: High School graduate or less preferred but not mandatory.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• No specific state licensure is needed for the position.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required within the first 90 days of employment.

• Department: Transportation Services.
• Shift Timing: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (Shift 1).
• Pay Rate: $20.00 to $23.50 per hour.
