Job Overview

Canada Cartage System LP is seeking a dependable and skilled AZ Truck Driver specializing in dry van tractor-trailer operations to join their London, Ontario team in a full-time, permanent position. The role demands the safe transport of goods across local, regional, and long-haul routes, including occasional cross-border drives to the United States.

Primary Duties

• Drive tractor-trailers to deliver goods safely and efficiently.
• Plan and modify routes with GPS or navigation tools to maximize delivery efficiency.
• Handle loading and unloading of cargo as necessary.
• Conduct vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips, checking tires, lights, brakes, and other systems.
• Keep meticulous documentation such as driver logbooks, bills of lading, and trip reports.
• Report delays, mechanical issues, or incidents to dispatch promptly.
• Ensure full compliance with transportation laws and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Possess a valid AZ (Class 1) Driver’s License.
• Have between 1 and less than 2 years of experience driving AZ vehicles.
• Maintain a clean driving record and a valid CVOR certificate.
• Be prepared for overnight travel and cross-border trips to the U.S.
• Capable of working extended hours in physically demanding settings.
• Comply with company safety screenings including criminal record checks and license verification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience operating dry van tractor-trailers.
• Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD).
• Background in long-haul or regional transportation routes.

Education

Completion of high school or equivalent is required.

Work Environment

• The job involves physically strenuous tasks and prolonged periods of sitting while driving.
• Work schedules include day and night shifts with tight delivery deadlines.
• Travel includes local, regional, and extensive long-haul routes.
