Job description
Role Overview
The Training and Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and supporting employee safety and training initiatives to ensure staff are adequately equipped and compliant with safety policies. This position helps foster a secure workplace environment while enabling teams to provide outstanding customer service in alignment with Kent's Safety Management System.
Key Duties
- Designing and delivering safety training programs targeted at employee development.
- Ensuring full compliance with safety regulations, internal procedures, and corporate policies.
- Maintaining accurate records related to safety training, documentation, and conducting compliance audits.
- Conducting risk assessments and audits, identifying hazards and facilitating corrective measures.
- Facilitating training sessions through diverse formats including in-person, e-learning, and hands-on approaches.
- Collaborating with managerial staff to identify training gaps and communicate opportunities for learning enhancement.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives and monitoring employee progression.
- Continuously expanding knowledge in human resources and safety areas to support store operations effectively.
- Promoting and reinforcing a safety-oriented culture, investigating incidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective action.
- Striving for full completion of safety training programs to uphold high levels of employee engagement and superb customer service delivery.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication abilities.
- Leadership capability without direct reporting responsibility.
- Highly organized and adaptable with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated with effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet set deadlines.
