Role and Responsibilities
- Possess in-depth knowledge of sheet metal press tools.
- Carry out routine preventive and corrective upkeep of press tools and dies.
- Effectively manage real-time tool breakdowns to reduce production downtime.
- Troubleshoot and implement improvements for press tools and dies.
- Oversee tool trial runs and handle HLTO processes.
- Perform activities related to press tool cutting, spotting for both cutting and non-cutting tools, and maintain proper tool alignment.
- Conduct online draw part validations.
- Maintain comprehensive tool documentation including preventive maintenance history cards, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) records.
- Apply expertise in tool drawing and design to enhance tooling processes.
- Utilize conventional machine operations such as drilling, lathe work, surface grinding, and milling for maintenance tasks.
- Employ arc welding techniques to support tool maintenance and repairs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Production, Plastics, or Polymer Engineering.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2.5 years in automotive toolroom or die maintenance environment.
- Technical Skills: Profound understanding of press tools and die maintenance workflows as well as molding parameters and auto industry quality systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities coupled with effective coordination skills to work with shop floor teams and minimize operational downtime.
