Role Overview

The Technician position at ABJ Forklift Training Academy, located in Kochi, Kerala, is a full-time onsite role dedicated to supporting the operational readiness of forklifts and material handling equipment (MHE). Key responsibilities include the setup, routine inspection, and basic upkeep of equipment to ensure safety and dependability for daily academy use.

Primary Duties

• Conduct routine inspections and checks of forklifts, cranes, and related machinery.
• Report, document, and communicate any equipment defects or operational concerns.
• Assist with minor repairs under supervision as necessary.
• Coordinate equipment scheduling to support academy training sessions.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures during maintenance and operation.
• Collaborate closely with trainers and administrative personnel to maintain seamless training program delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in performing mechanical inspections and maintenance tasks on forklifts, cranes, and related equipment.
• Electrical knowledge pertaining to cranes, forklifts, and heavy machinery is highly preferred.
• Technical aptitude with a comfort level using tools, consulting equipment manuals, and troubleshooting basic mechanical or electrical issues.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail for maintaining training spaces and accurate equipment logs.
• Previous experience in material handling, warehouse management, or equipment servicing is an asset.
• Vocational training, technical certifications, or substantial equivalent hands-on experience are desirable.
• Willingness and ability to work physically onsite in Kochi and support multiple training sessions daily.
