Technical Support Engineer / Systems Engineer (Entry / Junior)

Role overview

This is a full-time remote position for an entry-level Technical Support Engineer / Systems Engineer at Entreprise Portuaire De Skikda EPS. The role is centered on supporting internal users and business-critical systems by handling first-line technical issues, keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly, and reducing service interruptions.

What you will do

• Serve as the first point of contact for technical support requests from internal users.
• Investigate and fix problems related to hardware, software, and basic network connectivity.
• Escalate more complex incidents to senior technical staff when required.
• Record incidents, actions taken, and final resolutions in the support system.
• Track system health and performance, and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
• Support software updates, configuration adjustments, and deployment activities.
• Work with senior engineers on smaller technical initiatives and operational tasks.
• Follow approved procedures, operational standards, and security practices.
• Explain technical matters clearly to non-technical colleagues and other stakeholders.

Skills and qualifications

• Hands-on ability to troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, and basic network setups.
• Experience or familiarity with customer-facing support and professional service delivery.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including reviewing logs and identifying root causes.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
• Exposure to common enterprise applications.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs is an advantage.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to document work clearly and collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
• Technical education or certifications in IT or computer science are beneficial.
