Role Overview
We are expanding our team and looking for a seasoned Technical Manager to provide technical leadership across multiple projects. This role involves overseeing design compliance, coordination, and ensuring top quality standards. The role requires collaboration with Design, Pre-Construction, Commercial, and Project Delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle from tender to completion while maintaining strong relations with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery for roofing, cladding, and façade projects.
- Review and ensure technical compliance of drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate design activities between architects, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Identify technical risks and devise effective engineering solutions.
- Support pre-construction teams during tendering and value engineering phases.
- Ensure adherence to building regulations, industry standards, and client needs.
- Manage technical queries, requests for information, and design revisions during project progression.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical challenges during construction.
- Promote continuous enhancement of technical procedures, systems, and standards.
- Provide mentorship and assistance to technical and design team members.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in a Technical Manager, Design Manager, or senior technical role within construction.
- In-depth knowledge of roofing, cladding, façades, or broader building envelope sector.
- Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, or data center projects.
- Strong grasp of construction detailing, specification, and design coordination.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Commercially astute with outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with BIM and common design software is beneficial.
