Role Summary
The Tech Team Lead role blends strong technical skills with leadership capabilities. This position involves managing a team of software engineers, driving technical direction, mentoring team members, and contributing hands-on coding expertise. The leader ensures project deliveries are timely, high-quality, and fosters innovation by evolving engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and support software engineers to promote their professional development and cultivate a motivated, collaborative team environment.
- Lead by example through quality coding, guiding technical discussions and enforcing best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers to estimate workloads, run agile ceremonies, oversee production delivery, and enhance team productivity.
- Manage cross-team coordination to guarantee project alignment, timely delivery, and communicate status updates and risk assessments.
- Stay informed on industry trends for advising on architecture and technology decisions.
- Serve as a communication link between technical teams and stakeholders, clarifying technical information.
- Drive problem-solving efforts, document code/design decisions, and handle technical risks.
- Create a positive team culture emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to defining KPIs, monitor performance, and ensure security compliance.
- Support hiring efforts by identifying skill gaps and facilitating onboarding.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 to 10+ years software engineering experience.
- At least 2 years mentoring or managing engineers with focus on coaching.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience with Java programming and AWS technologies is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications demonstrating advanced technical proficiency or specialization are highly valued.
