We handle searches spanning from specialized scientific and technical roles to senior commercial, operational, and executive leadership positions.
Role Overview
We seek a proactive and organised Talent Resourcer to join our fully remote South Africa-based team. This position focuses on sourcing, contacting, and initially screening candidates for diverse retained search assignments. While recruitment background is advantageous, it's not mandatory as comprehensive training is provided. This is more than mere CV searching—it demands understanding each role's nuances, identifying suitable candidates, professionally engaging them, and advancing qualified individuals to interviews with our consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain thorough understanding of client requirements, roles, essential criteria, and target candidate markets.
- Develop structured search strategies using job titles, skills, qualifications, sectors, locations, and target companies.
- Identify prospective candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Loxo, and other online resources, including passive candidates.
- Critically assess profiles and CVs to differentiate genuine fits from superficial keyword matches.
- Communicate with candidates through LinkedIn, email, and phone using clear, personalised, and professional messaging.
- Qualify candidates' interest, motivation, location, availability, salary expectations, and overall suitability.
- Engage appropriate candidates to arrange initial interviews with consultants.
- Keep detailed records of candidates, search notes, activities, and progress stages in Loxo.
- Provide concise updates on progress, market feedback, challenges, and recommend strategy adjustments.
- Manage multiple assignments across seniority levels while maintaining high quality and pace.
Typical Assignments
Assignments span scientific and laboratory roles, biotechnology and life sciences positions, software, data, AI, engineering and technical jobs; sales and business development; quality, regulatory, finance, operations; as well as senior management, director, and executive-level searches.
Candidate Profile
- Curious, commercially aware, and comfortable with researching unfamiliar topics and technical jargon.
- Bright, analytical, quick learners with good judgement to identify credible candidates.
- Highly organised, dependable, and capable of prioritising independently within a remote setup.
- Persistent and efficient, without compromising accuracy, professionalism, or candidate experience.
- Strong written and spoken English skills, confident engaging with scientists, engineers, specialists, and executives.
- Skilled in online research and familiar with LinkedIn and CRM/database tools.
- Detail-oriented with careful handling of confidential data and rigorous record keeping.
- Open to feedback and motivated by clear goals, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement.
Performance Metrics
Success will be tracked through Loxo system activity, regular communications, and balanced scorecards, considering assignment complexity. Focus areas include:
- Search delivery - speed, quality, relevant candidate identification, and meeting deadlines.
- Candidate engagement - customised outreach, response rates, meaningful discussions, and progression to consultant interviews.
- Candidate quality - suitability, qualification accuracy, and progression rates post-consultant review.
- Process discipline - comprehensive Loxo records, timely follow-ups, reliable attendance, clear updates, and managing multiple assignments effectively.
Remote Work Expectations
- Availability on Microsoft Teams during coordinated hours and participation in search meetings.
- Maintain up-to-date live records and candidate activity logs in Loxo without constant supervision.
- Early communication regarding search challenges or feedback suggesting brief adjustments.
- Safeguard client and candidate confidentiality while upholding a professional representation.
Training and Development
Training includes retained search processes, briefing, Boolean and LinkedIn/Loxo search strategies, market mapping, candidate outreach, and qualification techniques. The successful individual will initially collaborate closely with an experienced consultant and may progress toward a Search Consultant role. The compensation package will be competitive within South Africa and performance-based, with equipment and system access arranged during onboarding.
Essential Requirements
- Dependable high-speed internet and quiet, professional home workspace suitable for video and phone calls.
- Availability aligned to UK working hours overlap.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, email, and online research instruments.
- Ability to interpret job descriptions and justify candidate suitability.
