Role Summary
The Talent Acquisition Manager role is a strategic, hands-on leadership position responsible for shaping and implementing SB Energy’s recruitment strategy during a period of significant growth. This role involves partnering with company leaders, hiring managers, and recruitment teams to attract and secure vital talent essential to business objectives. The position handles everything from talent sourcing to improving hiring processes to ensure a positive candidate and hiring-manager experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead hiring strategies across various levels and functions, focusing particularly on sourcing critical and niche talent to support business expansion.
- Collaborate with executives and hiring managers to outline hiring needs, refine job descriptions, analyze talent markets, and devise sourcing methods.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment activities including candidate sourcing, engagement, interview coordination, selection calibration, offer negotiation, and closure.
- Coordinate with internal recruitment teams and external agencies to maintain prioritization, execution efficiency, and quality candidate pipelines.
- Identify and attract high-impact candidates through innovative outreach, market research, referrals, and partnerships.
- Create scalable recruitment processes, reporting tools, and hiring-manager accountability systems to enhance hiring efficiency and quality.
- Translate corporate priorities into actionable hiring plans, search priorities, and talent initiatives that facilitate fast and sustainable growth.
- Leverage recruitment analytics and workforce insights to diagnose bottlenecks and optimize talent acquisition funnels.
- Ensure the onboarding experience is seamless and scalable to support the organization’s expanding workforce.
- Act as a trusted HR advisor to managers, offering guidance on hiring, team performance, leadership development, and organizational culture.
- Coach hiring managers on effective recruitment techniques, interview best practices, team integration, and performance management.
- Handle complex employee relations and talent issues with discretion and sound judgment.
- Support initiatives that enhance company culture, employee engagement, and inclusion.
- Develop and refine HR policies and procedures that support a positive employee experience and ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Maintain and improve recruitment systems, workflows, documentation, and communications throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Prepare relevant people analytics and reports to assist in workforce planning, compliance, audits, and leadership decision-making.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years in HR or related people roles with significant experience leading or partnering with talent acquisition in rapidly growing or dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated success in creating and executing multi-functional recruiting strategies, particularly for leadership and difficult-to-fill roles.
- Proven ability to attract and secure top talent in competitive fields through innovative and timely sourcing methods.
- Experience collaborating across recruiting teams, leadership, hiring managers, and external partners to manage searches from planning to hiring.
- Thorough understanding of end-to-end recruiting, hiring operations, workforce planning, interview frameworks, candidate experience, offers, and empowering hiring managers.
- Capability to work across various HR functions including employee relations, organizational development, and talent programs.
- Strong strategic mindset combined with practical, swift execution skills in complex and fast-moving settings.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing abilities, and adaptability to change.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and adeptness at managing ambiguity within a growth-focused company.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, HR certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience supporting high-growth, scaling businesses with emphasis on hiring speed and quality.
- Familiarity with designing recruiting processes, interview structures, manager training, external partnerships, and talent operations.
- Experience working with distributed, hybrid, or multi-state teams and awareness of employment compliance in recruitment and workforce planning.
Compensation and Location
Position based in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, CA, or Denver, CO with hybrid work arrangements. Expected base salary ranges between $140,000 and $165,000 annually, subject to adjustment based on candidate profile and market conditions. Additional compensation includes discretionary bonuses and comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
