Role Overview
This Support Worker position, based in Whanganui, focuses on assisting individuals to enhance their independence and daily living skills. Responsibilities range from helping with transportation, managing employment, finances, and meal prep, to potentially supporting with shopping, cleaning, personal hygiene, and medication administration depending on the setting.
Work Schedule
Candidates must be prepared to work rostered shifts including daytime, evenings, sleepover, and weekends.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay from NZD 24.68 up to 30.13, linked to qualifications with potential to increase as you advance.
- Support from IDEA Services towards completing Level 2, 3, and 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificates.

Candidate Profile
No previous experience in health or disability care is required, although enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential. Full training and orientation are provided. Candidates need to be comfortable using computers and tablets daily, possess strong communication skills, physical fitness for support duties, flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and sleepovers, and hold a Full New Zealand driver's license.
