Job Overview
A well-established specialist manufacturer located in Witney is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager. This role comes with a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum plus bonus and benefits. The company has ambitious plans to double its £100 million turnover to over £200 million in the next five years. The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the purchasing function within the business unit, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, components, finished goods, and indirect materials to meet customer demand and support manufacturing processes.
Role Responsibilities
This position is ideal for a purchasing professional comfortable balancing hands-on supply negotiations with strategic supply chain leadership. Key duties include managing supplier relationships focusing on quality, service, and innovation; exploring and implementing new sourcing options; and collaborating effectively across operations, planning, engineering, and quality departments to represent the purchasing function.
Required Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building strong verbal and written relationships.
- Proven strong negotiation skills, with a focus on commercial acumen and cost efficiency.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities suited to fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Leadership capability to motivate and develop team members fostering collaboration.
- Solid knowledge of procurement, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in the polymer and plastics sector, particularly injection moulding manufacturing.
- Expertise in sourcing polymers, colourants, additives, and injection moulded components, understanding cost drivers and supply market trends.
- Experience working with EMS partners and knowledge of electronic component supply chains including PCBs, batteries, sensors, semiconductors, and electromechanical assemblies.
